Fourth of July!

I probably should have done this post as soon as we got back from vacation but oh well...better late than never I guess!  We celebrated Independence Day with two sets of fireworks on July 3rd and July 4th.

On July 3rd we had dinner at The Beachouse, a restaurant on the Gulf, that was having a firework display that night.

The babies reading some books before we left for dinner :)

This is a picture from their website http://beachhouse.groupersandwich.com/ because we didn't take a picture while we were there.
The sun was setting as we were waiting on our food so Michael went out to take a picture.

Every one's food was great and our timing was perfect because as soon as we were finished eating we had just enough time to walk outside, grab a chair, and watch the show.  A family that was leaving early walked by and shared their glow necklaces with us.  I won't bore you with fireworks pictures but it was a great show.  Kellan wasn't afraid at all and he sat back in his stroller and enjoyed the lights.  Afterwards we walked to an ice cream shop while we were waiting on the traffic to calm down before we headed back to our house.  Traffic was still backed up even after our ice cream so we drove off of the island and rode through Sarasota before we looped around towards home again.  Sarasota had some areas that I would definitely like to check out on another trip.

On July 4th my mom, sister, and I rode the island's free trolley to check out the rest of Anna Maria.  That night we went to the northern end of the island and had dinner at The Sand Bar, another restaurant right on the Gulf that was having a Fourth of July party and fireworks show.

Somebody was really sleepy and slept all through dinner.

After dinner we headed to the waterfront to hang out on the beach before the fireworks began.

The Sand Bar's beach really filled up for the fireworks show.

Mommy and Kellan watching the fireworks...this is the best picture we got since daddy took fifty million pictures and videos of fireworks...We all agreed that it was the best fireworks show that any of us had ever seen.  There were several times that we thought we were watching the finale and then more kept coming!  It was an awesome show on a beautiful beach.
