Kellan's New Shoes

Up to this point in his life Kellan has been going barefoot for the most part.  Every now and then we will put shoes on him to go to church but it doesn't usually last long because he somehow manages to work them off.  It hasn't really been much of an issue since the weather has been warm and he can't walk yet.  He also has such a chubby little foot that he has outgrown the shoes that he could wear.

We have recently started looking for a pair of shoes that he can wear when we are on our upcoming trip to Portland, Oregon because the weather will be much cooler there and he will need something on his fat little feet.  When we were in Hendersonville last weekend we went to a shoe warehouse and my mom found the perfect little pair of shoes on the clearance rack!  They are the cutest little Crocs and they even have a fuzzy, soft lining on the inside.  We bought him a size 6 even though they were slightly big...I mean just a little bit big.  I'm not kidding....the kid has an ENORMOUS foot.  We're hoping he will be able to wear these for a little while at least.  If nothing else, they will keep his feet warm while we are in Portland!

Trying out the shoes...

He started clapping...that's a good sign

*sigh* such a big boy

Work it, work it...

He found the tag...

And promptly pulled it off!  He still loves a tag!  Looks like the shoes will definitely be coming home with us :)

Hendersonville Trip Wrap Up

We stayed in Hendersonville until Monday afternoon so here are some pictures of our adventures Sunday night and Monday morning before we headed back home.

Sunday night we went back to the Apple Festival to get more apple treats and to check out the booths that we missed on our first trip.  I had a fried apple pie and it was soooo good (even though I was really full from dinner at Binions Roadhouse and the thought of more food made me sick...I ate it anyway).  My parents got fried apple pies to go and Jess and Shannon got more apple slushies.

Right before I took this picture Owen crawled out of the stroller and said "Oh I don't need to be in this picture."  Haha...what a mess!

This little boy was showing Kellan the puppets he was selling at his booth.  He loved that thing!

And then mommy made Kellan take pictures with all of the animals...first...the goat with ice cream on his face
He was not very fond of Mr. Bear
He didn't mind the bear with the ice cream as much...
Riding the goat with Owen

This picture cracks me up...oh that Owen! :)
Sunday night there was a band performing on the stage in front of the courthouse.  Owen loves to dance so he started a dance party...

Kellan tried to join in...with his spoon..

Eden did not participate...

Monday morning we had breakfast at Fireside

This little piggy ate an entire avocado and a whole banana

Look at that belly...he had to be stuffed

Riding the alligator

Feeding the alligator some grass and petting him before we left

Last stop at a roadside stand at an apple orchard

This was in the backseat on our way home...

Cutest little boy ever :)

Labor Day Trip: Cousin Time!

We spent lots of time at Aunt Jessie and Uncle Shannon's house watching the kids play and letting them take naps when they were worn out.  The kids had so much fun getting into all the toys and the adults had so much fun letting Owen entertain us with his unbelievable imagination.

This is my nephew Superman.
Superman showing us his superpowers.
Faster than a speeding bullet!
Kellan making some music and watching Superman run by...
This is my nephew the fireman.  Kellan is finally getting his ride in the firetruck.
Is this not the cutest picture?!

Kellan was not too happy about wearing the fire hat

Eden on the front porch showing off her sprout :)
Laughing with Papa

Owen's version of "sharing" is showing the babies his toy and then as soon as they start to get near it, he gathers it up and moves it to where they can't get it :)

They didn't care, Eden was tending to the farm and Kellan was driving the tractor...he LOVED this tractor

Discussing something very important

Having a very important conversation with Papa...bring your own goggles

Papa rocking the babies before bed...Kellan took Eden's pacifier...

So she sat up and went after his!

We really enjoyed letting the kids spend time together in between our trips to the Apple Festival.  Check out tomorrow's post where I will be wrapping up our visit to Hendersonville!
